After The Bars Pt. 2

After the Bars Part 2 was held Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Tyler Metro Chamber of Commerce. This event was open to friends and family members of ex-offenders. Heather Smith was the guest speaker and Patrick Smith was the Master of Ceremony for this event.

BRET (Building Relationships in East Texas) goal is to rehabilitate and educate men and women returning home in an attempt to help them become productive citizens. This is only possible with the help of people like you. These men and women deserve a true second change at life outside of the bars and BRET will do everything we can to make this possible for all.

Many men and women were present during this event who are running for or is currently holding a local or state seat. It was great to have these men and women in the audience during this event, so that they can have a better understanding as to why BRET is so important for our community. Ms. Heather Smith touched on many issues she and others face while incarcerated as well as those they face when they return home. Many ex-offenders can vote and it's very important that they know who is representing them and this was a great way to meet those in attendance.

We pray that change continues to happen for these men and women and their families for a true chance at a second chance at life outside the bars. We also pray that you will support our mission and reach out to us to see how you can be a part of this amazing change happening in East Texas.
